THE LAST
SIGNAL
The city had forgotten what silence sounded like. Then, at 02:17, every screen went black.
He was already awake.
Alpha stood beneath the dead skyline, hood down, one acid-green eye cutting through the dark. He didn't know who sent the signal. He only knew it was meant for him.
DON'T TRUST THE LIGHT.
The words appeared for three seconds on a broken tower. Then another line followed: “Find the source before dawn.”
Every trail led underground.
Alpha moved through empty streets and service tunnels. No army. No backup. Just instinct, patience, and the strange green pulse that kept getting closer.
THE SIGNAL WAS A WARNING.
At the source, he found no enemy. He found a recording of the city before it fell — and a countdown already running.
ONE CHOICE.
Alpha looked toward the horizon. He could disappear before sunrise, or stay and protect a city that had never protected him.
HE STAYED.
